• 3D CAD modeling of total spa: construction, insulation, piping and equipment
• Heat loss simulations using Finite Element Analysis
• Infrared analysis of different spa insulation concepts: fully foam and thermo pane insulation as well as several prototyped insulation enhancements
• Efficiency enhancements of pumps, spa controls and acessories
• Solar powered spas (thermo and photovoltaic prototypes)
• Patent analysis in specific areas and spa manufacturers 
• Energy consumption tests and certifications
• Concepting "Zero Emission Spas"
• Spa recycling issues
• Benchmark of spa brands with respect to their energy efficiency and customer information
• Sales strategies and statements in spa business
